What are you going to be doing for your other half this Festive Season? Have you thought of an advent calendar? Thought they were just for children? Oh no, most definitely not, let’s look at what your choices are.

What choices do we have for the adults who love the festive season build up?  Of course chocolates are an obvious choice that will please most, not to forget that you can get very tasty chocolate liqueur calendars to make the advent calendar experience even more delicious. Or if you happen not to be a chocolate lover, then you could go for one that has different types of gourmet treats, like biscuits and other sweetmeats.  Then there are the more classic wooden advent calendars 2011, that either come with trinkets for the Christmas tree, or empty boxes that can be personalised for each particular taste. Of course these empty box calendars can also be used for children and a personalised selection of gifts can be wonderful for a child’s advent calendar too!  If you want to get really high end, there are some luxury advent calendars that are pretty spectacular, but are very much for the bigger budget as they can be as much as a few hundred dollars.  Of course these more expensive calendars should hopefully stand up to a bit more wear and tear and should last for many years to come.

For the whole family: There are also musical advent calendars that play a tune for each day that you open up until Christmas. This is a wonderful way to share the advent period.  Another simple way to share something with the whole family is a card advent calendar that has a picture that completes the Christmas or Nativity scene.  Whatever the choice you make, enjoy the tradition of the advent calendar together and I hope your Festive Season is a special one.
